Over the years soccer became a popular summer sport through the efforts of Rolf Fuchs and other dedicated volunteers. Community children benefited physically and socially. Wishing to continue this tradition, The Chapleau Diabetes Prevention Action Committee with the help of community partners and volunteers, have organized a soccer league for the spring and summer of 2010. They will be offering indoor and outdoor soccer. The indoor soccer will be modeled after a Youth Soccer program in Moosonee, Ontario where youth play in the gym during the months of May and June. The outdoor program will be offered from the end of June, operating throughout the summer and wrapping-up end of August. [more...]
