Scholarships

The Boards of Service de santé de Chapleau Health Services (SSCHS) and Chapleau General Hospital Foundation (CGF) are pleased to announce the launch of a new scholarship program aimed at providing financial assistance to Chapleau citizens enrolled in certain health programs. The Health Professional Recruitment and Retention Committee has worked hard over the past two years identifying different strategies which will help SSCHS overcome staffing vacancies. Currently, SSCHS is facing a serious staffing crisis in the following disciplines: Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. Given this, these four roles have been selected as the educational paths that will be supported by the SSCHS Scholarship Program.

One Physiotherapy and One Occupational Therapy Scholarship


This scholarship is intended to increase the number of Chapleau students/residents enrolled in a physiotherapy or an occupational therapy educational program, support those already attending a post secondary program, and encourage students/residents to return to Chapleau to practice their profession.

Registered Nurses Scholarship


The Registered Nurses Scholarship is intended to: increase the number of Chapleau students/residents enrolled in a registered nursing program, support those already attending a nursing educational program and encourage students/residents to return to Chapleau to practice their profession.

Registered Practical Nurses Scholarship


This scholarship is intended to: increase the number of Chapleau students/residents enrolled in a registered practical nursing program, support those already attending a practical nursing educational program and encourage students/residents to return to Chapleau to practice their profession.
