Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the incumbent will be responsible for
providing high quality nursing services, meeting the College of Nurses Standards and
demonstrating leadership in clinical practice. The primary function of the role is to work in
the emergency department and provide nursing care to acute medical inpatients. Other
responsibilities can include being the charge nurse for the 25-bed LTC unit. The position
requires a person experienced in emergency services who has excellent clinical assessment
skills. The person also needs a strong knowledge of working with patients who have acute
medical conditions and can consistently demonstrate a patient-centered approach to care. A
nurse in this position needs to be able work independently within his/her full scope of
practice and be a member of the interdisciplinary health team. |
