The Township of Chapleau is represented by a Mayor and four Councillors. As a result of the Municipal Election held October 25th, 2010, members of Council were sworn into office during a public ceremony held December 1st, 2010 by Ms. Sheena Alexander of the law firm Weaver Simmons. Mayor Byham returns to Council for his third term, Councillor/Deputy Mayor Lisi Crichton-Bernier starts her first term, Councillor Larry Lacroix, a former member of Council starts his first term. Councillors Greig and Bertrand start their second terms. Mayor Byham will also represent the Township of Chapleau on the Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board and the Superior East Mayors Group. Section 12 of O. Reg. 170/03 requires that the 2010 Annual Compliance/Summary Report be made available for inspection by any member of the public during normal business hours, without charge. We have also provided a copy of the 2010 Ministry of the Environment Drinking Water System Inspection Report.
