Chapleau Recreation Centre Covid-19 Guidelines for the A.W. Moore Arena

  • Reservations are required for entry;
  • All members of the public who enter the facility must sign in for contact tracing;
  • All user groups are responsible for screening and maintaining contact information for their participants and volunteers which must be available upon request by the Township or Public Health Sudbury and Districts;
  • Masks are mandatory when entering and occupying the building with the exception of the ice surface;
  • Hand sanitizer is provided and must be used up on entrance to the facility;
  • Physical distancing of 2m must be maintained unless engaged in a sport;
  • Capacity limits must be followed at all times;
  • The water fountain in the lobby is open for bottle filling only;
  • Lobby washrooms are open - all others are closed;
  • Sports may only be practiced or played within the facility if they do not allow for physical contact between players;
  • Youth Users will come dressed in all their necessary equipment and will be allowed to put on their skates in the lobby.  Only one parent/guardian is permitted per child for washroom assistance, if required. Youth users are permitted to enter the building at the beginning of their ice time.  The first 10 minutes of the rental is to provide time for you to put on your skates as well as for Township staff to perform ice maintenance. When your time is over, you have 10 minutes to remove your sakes and exit the building;
  • Adult Userswill be permitted to use the change room with a maximum capacity of 8 people per room. The showers in the change rooms remain closed.  Adult Users are permitted to enter the building at the beginning of their ice time.  The first 10 minutes of the rental is to provide time for you to change into your equipment as well as for Township staff to perform ice maintenance. When your ice time is over, you have 30 minutes to undress in the change room and exit the building;
  • Bleachers are closed to the public;
  • Groups that use the hockey nets must return them to the ice resurfacer doors at the end of their ice rental to be disinfected by staff.
  • The score board and penalty box areas are prohibited at the moment;
  • Any person who does not respect the guidelines will be asked to leave the premises. If they refuse, the local authorities will be contacted to enforce a no trespassing order.
