Public OEB Meeting

Posted on Wednesday January 23, 2019

Chapleau Hydro has applied to change its distribution rates effective May 1, 2019. As part of our review of this application, we want to hear from their customers and ensure that they have an opportunity to have their say. Towards that end, we are holding a community meeting on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Legion on Young Street. Doors open at 6 p.m.

We hold community meetings so that consumers can have an opportunity to:

  • speak with utility representatives directly and ask why they want the change they’re proposing
  • ask us questions about our process and find out how to get involved
  • give us their comments about the application, verbally or in writing, which we give to the decision-makers to consider as part of the hearings process

Consumers are also welcome to make a presentation if they like. We keep notes about the questions and comments made at the meeting. We also file a report so the decision-makers at the Ontario Energy Board are aware of all the concerns that utility customers raise about an application – the very people who may be affected by the changes their utility is requesting.
